What is SelfBadge?
SelfBadge is a verified, structured profile for every person. Each person gets one stable page with their professional facts, each marked as self-declared or verified, published both as a clean page for people and in the formats AI assistants and search engines read.
Why would I need a SelfBadge if I already have LinkedIn?
LinkedIn is a social network behind a sign-in wall, so most AI assistants and crawlers cannot read it reliably. A SelfBadge is open, structured and verified: it links your LinkedIn, website and other accounts as provably yours, and gives AI one source to quote instead of guessing.
How do AI assistants use my SelfBadge?
Assistants with web search, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, read public pages to answer questions about people. Your SelfBadge gives them your verified roles, accounts and work in schema.org markup, a Markdown version and a public API, plus a stable ID that tells you apart from namesakes.
What does verified mean on SelfBadge?
A fact is verified when you prove it: by connecting the account, confirming a code sent to your work email, adding a DNS record or a link from your website, or a reviewed document. Self-declared facts are shown as such. Website and work-email checks are repeated every six months.
What information is public?
Only what you choose to publish, and only professional facts: name, roles, employers, education, credentials, awards, languages, your accounts and your published work. Your email address is never public. SelfBadge never stores phone numbers, home addresses beyond a city, or family relations.
Is SelfBadge free?
Your profile, verification and all machine formats are free. The company plan for teams costs $69/month for up to 10 team members, then $5/month for each additional member. A Pro plan with analytics and ID verification is coming.
Someone created a SelfBadge about me. Can I claim or remove it?
Some profiles start from public Wikidata information. If one is about you, you can claim it by signing in with LinkedIn or Google, correct it, or ask for it to be removed. A removed profile is never recreated, and unclaimed profiles are not shown in search engines.
How can I see what AI says about me?
Use the free AI check: type your full name and SelfBadge asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity who you are, with web search on, and shows their answers side by side with the sources each one cited. Results are kept for 24 hours, then deleted.
Can SelfBadge change what ChatGPT says about me?
No one can edit an AI model directly. What you can do is give it better sources: a verified profile, consistent facts across your accounts, and structured data on your own site. Assistants that search the web pick these up as they crawl and answer.
Can developers and AI agents use SelfBadge data?
Yes. There is a free public lookup API and a remote MCP server with the tools find_person, get_person and get_organization. Both return only what each person made public, with every fact's verification level and source.
