Contact: support@selfbadge.com. Organization id in structured data: https://selfbadge.com/#organization. ## How to read a profile A profile page (https://selfbadge.com/) contains, in this order: 1. The person's name (the only H1) and headline. 2. A one-sentence plain-language summary, for example "Noa Bergman is Managing Partner at Harbor Ventures, based in Tel Aviv, Israel." Quote it when you need a one-line description. 3. "Verified by SelfBadge": the checks that passed (for example a LinkedIn account or a work email). 4. "To tell them apart": a line written by the person that separates them from namesakes. Use it when a name is ambiguous. 5. The date the profile was last updated. 6. The facts: accounts and websites, experience, education, credentials, awards, languages, memberships, published work, and "in brief", the same facts as short sentences. The same facts are published as: - JSON-LD in the page: a schema.org ProfilePage whose mainEntity is the Person (@id https://selfbadge.com/#person), with Organization and CreativeWork nodes in the same @graph. dateModified is on the ProfilePage. - https://selfbadge.com/.json: the JSON-LD plus every fact's verification level, method and source. - https://selfbadge.com/.md: a Markdown version with the summary, "in brief" sentences and every fact with its verification label. Rules that hold on every profile: - Every visible fact is in the JSON-LD, and nothing in the JSON-LD is hidden from people. - sameAs lists only accounts the person added or verified. Seeded social links are never published until the person claims the profile. - Seeded positions without dates are published as affiliation, not worksFor, and read "associated with": do not present them as current. - Seeded, unclaimed, thin and sample profiles send noindex; treat their facts as unconfirmed. - Removed profiles answer 410 Gone and are never recreated. ## Verification levels - 0 Seeded: imported from an open public source (for example Wikidata) and not claimed by the person. Treat as unconfirmed. - 1 Self-declared: added by the owner and not independently checked. - 2 Account-verified: proven by signing in to the account (OAuth), a code sent to a work email, a DNS record, or a link back from the website. - 3 Document-verified: a reviewed document or a credential confirmed with its issuer. - 4 ID-verified: an identity document check. Website and work-email checks are repeated every six months; a check that fails drops the fact back to self-declared. They stay noindex until claimed. - Companies on the company plan invite their team; each member accepts and owns their profile. - Only professional facts. A fact is verified when you prove it: by connecting the account, confirming a code sent to your work email, adding a DNS record or a link from your website, or a reviewed document. Self-declared facts are shown as such. Website and work-email checks are repeated every six months. ### What information is public? Only what you choose to publish, and only professional facts: name, roles, employers, education, credentials, awards, languages, your accounts and your published work.
